METALISED PACKAGING MATERIAL

The metalised packaging material is a new type of compounded and environment protecting material. Since 80¡¯s, metalised paper is used throughout the printing and packaging market of the world.

The Ideal metalised packaging material is produced by the advanced technology that is direct metalising technique and transferring metalising technique. The normal environment protecting metalised cigarette inner paper and the holographic anti-forge metalised cigarette inner paper has filled up the domestic blank market.

The metalised packaging material are broadly used in the industries of cigarette, alcohol, food, commodity, cosmetic, general merchandise and gift, etc. Could be reclaimed, could be decomposed and could save the metal resource, all these characteristics of this material are according with the country¡¯s environment protecting industrial policy.

The Ideal metalised packaging material can entirely substitute the traditional aluminum foil compounded paper. The new material can efficiently reduce the cost of production. Meanwhile, the technology index, the economy index and the environment-protecting index are obviously increased. The potential market of the metalised material is so huge and there will be a very broad and continual developing market space.

It is the duty for the industrial corporation to protect the environment for the society and human beings. For the packaging industry, the environment protecting printing and packaging materials, which are according to the international 3R standard, is a certain developing direction in the world.

Ideal Group was titled as the Industrial Base of Environment Protecting Metalised Packaging Materials of China both by Economy & Trade Committee of China and China Packaging Association in 2001.

The Group was rewarded as one of the top 500 in the world printing and packaging in the year 2001.

THE METALISED PACKAGING MATERIALS

The metalised paper is constituted of the base paper, the aluminum layer and the coated layer. The techniques to produce the metalised paper are direct metalising and transferring metalising. The technique of transferring metalising is only fitful to produce the paper that the weight is more than 100 gram per square meter. The first step of the technique is to coat the polyester film or polypropylene film, then put the film into the metalised machine. After that, coat it for another time. At last, transfer the aluminum layer to the base paper. The technique of direct metalised is to put the base paper directly into the metalised machine. After metalised, the surface of the paper should have a special treatment. When the metalising process is finished, some products should be embossed. According to the customers¡¯ requirement, the products will be specially processed and be cut into every specification of sheets or rolls.

THE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTING PERFORMANCE TEST OF THE METALISED MATERIALS

The Sample Specification
Product Base Paper Thickness of Aluminum Layer Dope
Metalised Paper 92g/©O C1S paper 0.02-0.13um 1-2g/©O
Aluminum Foil Compounded Paper 215-220g/©O white paper 7-9um 1-2g/©O

Test Content

20%NaOH liquor 120min 10min

The decomposing performance in the soil.
Date Aluminum Foil Compounded Paper Metalised Paper

Buried into soil
Bury 8 pieces of each paper of 40*40mm size one by one into a pit which is 200mm deep and 200*200mm area. The aluminum side put upwards.
June 25, 2001
The sample situation
The aluminum foil layer still exists. The base paper has decomposed completely. The aluminum layer has decomposed and only left a little scrappy powder, which is hard to be collected and get weight.

The Conclusion:
* When being reclaimed and decomposed, the Ideal metalised wrapping paper needs less time to dissolve the aluminum layer comparing with common aluminum foil compounded paper;
* Comparing with common aluminum foil compounded paper, the Ideal metalised wrapping paper is easier to be decomposed by some kind of microbe and absorbed by the soil.
